Lee Stierhoff
I work in oils primarily doing landscapes. I am attracted to interesting moments of light on the landscape which are often fleeting, however recently bridges seem to be attracting me.
About Lee Stierhoff
I have been painting for the past 30 years and am a self taught artist but for what I learn from viewing the work of others.
My earliest memory of loving art was in the third grade when the teacher held my landscape sketch up in front of the class . Until then I had no idea that what I drew was considered interesting.
I began practicing Mindfulness seriously around 25 years ago and have found that painting mostly Au Plein Air is a wonderful way to support my practice. Having two hours of concentration on one subject is most rewarding. By letting go of any expected outcome I will always have a wonderful experience.

Having recently retired and moved to NH, I now have the opportunity to paint daily if I choose and find I am doing that both in nature and in my studio. Studio painting allows for larger dimensions in the work, which I am enjoying playing with.
In the past, I have had numerous solo shows in the Baltimore and Philadelphia areas. Before moving to East Alstead, NH, I would travel to the Otsego Lake NY area where I painted intensely for two weeks and left my work with the Cooperstown Art Association gallery where most of it found a home.
